Coronavirus Cultural Advice Initiative
The Coronavirus Cultural Advice Initiative was founded by Lytton Patrick Brown in October 2020 to submit requests for closing museums, performing arts venues, historic sites & other attractions based on case data and medical advice in regions I have visited where governments ignore high infection rates. Closures are required to reduce infection rates, save lives for patrons, staff and local residents. In addition, region wide requests to local governments are also part of the overall initiative. Culture is very important, but closing it's venues and using protective measures are the only possible way to open during safer months, help each community stay safe, out of hospital & ensure a safer outcome in the long term.
Update October 2021 : Requests also include mask mandates where cases are lower and sites may open with covid passport certificates. Also new wording, ending by 2022 has been removed as it has been accepted covid-19 will be with us for years to come.
Update August 2022 :
A new request system is being developed based on what measures work and on the state of infections and transmission as well as advice from a wide range of health officials including doctors, scientists and using research findings as we have better knowledge of what works. I plan to expand pandemic efforts to include creating an online group and to work with groups already in operation to put pressure on governments to do more to protect everyone, control covid and support healthcare workers.
